Welcome to Daniel-Radcliffe.net, your fan source for everything Dan. Daniel Radcliffe made his debut in acting at the tender age of 11 for Harry Potter and The Sorceror's Stone. After filming those, he signed on to do all the movies as they came up for production. Including several other films.

As the HP Series winds down to the last movie, he is now playing on Broadway. In a musical called: How to Succeed in Business without really trying. So if you love Dan as we all do, please take a look, sit back and enjoy!

History

You may call this site Dan-Radcliffe.Net, DRNET, DanRadNet, or Daniel Radcliffe Network.

This site started off in 2002 after Sorcerer’s Stone was released. Back then, I named it Alohomora! and the layout was a pic of Harry with his Nimbus 2000. It wasn’t updated for more than a year since it was opened, LOL. I had some scans of Singapore 8 Days mag in it, and some screen captures of HPSS. That was about it.

2004 itself has been a Potter-crazed year for me. It was Prisoner of Azkaban (the book) that did it for me. I started reading Prisoner of Azkaban some time in January, followed by Goblet of Fire and Order of the Phoenix.

Alohomora was hosted on my then-domain silverskies.org. It still wasn’t updated though I created some new logos for it. Then I found B-Witched, a fansite on Emma created by Kathy. We chatted and somehow I was inspired to change my layout and start working on Alohomora again. I applied for hosting and soon, Alohomora was hosted on Magic-Host.org. The layout (version 2) of Alohomora was created in about 3 hours when I just got the inspiration for it, and the site was re-opened on 16th May 2004. It was a really hectic few weeks after that in the build up to the release of POA – loads of photos, news, articles, videos were posted all over the web everyday and I couldn’t really keep up with everything…. It was tough, and a really difficult period.

POA was released on the 3rd of June here and by then I was already totally obsessed with Harry Potter. I was dying to watch the movie, and I really wanted a domain name for this site. I was deciding between something else and D-R.net but I decided on this in the end. In fact, I love to see all three – Dan, Rupert and Emma – on screen, but somehow I’ve a soft spot for Dan (I’ve never really felt his acting was good – until I watched POA which I felt he has improved by “leaps and bounds”. Way to go, Dan!).

On 6th June 2004, I bought the domain name and renamed the site to Dan-Radcliffe.net! Since then, we have been through numerous hosts like MinistryofHosting.com and Fanwired.com, and then by Celebrityhost.net (which is one of the best hosts to have). Finally in November 2005, we purchased our own hosting account at Surpass, so as to cater to increasing space and bandwidth usage (due to onslaught of GOF-mania). I hope you like this site as much as I enjoyed creating it.

In December 2006 Marcie and I (Juliet) took over the site. Michelle continued to host us, and pay for the domain while we kept the site up. It was then then that we decided that the site was going to need alot of work to become top again. We revamped and changed almost everything, to keep it up to date and make sure it was all working. In early 2007, the booming fan reations of Dan’s controversial role in Equus made our site more popular than ever with over 95 people online at one time alone.

While the West End Revival of Equus seemed to be making our site one of the best Dan sites out there, we still kept our tradition of the best gallery. I decided that I wanted to redo the gallery and make it more full of HQ’s. As Summer began to roll around I wanted to continue getting more HQ’s as the promotion for the 5th Installment of Harry Potter was being set to release on July 11, 2007.

The fans loved the Gallery and were happy that it was the most extensive one on the web. Then fans began to freak out about paperazzi and about how it was an invasion of privacy. I had been fed up with it and began to do less and less with the site.

I knew that leaving was not someting I wanted to do, but I was really debating whether or not to keep myself going. The comments were very hurtful and were not things I wanted to hear, since I had gone through alot of work to get the pictures they were complaining about. As December Boys came to be released Fans Eased up a bit, but were still upset. In Late 2007 Marcie and I celebrated out 1 anniversary of working at Daniel Radcliffe Network.

The Spring of 2008 the server went down for me. I wanted to do so much for the site but could not because I couldn’t view the site. I wanted to change the layout and keep working on the gallery, but couldn’t because I could not view it. I decided to revamp the Gallery once again removing all the tags that were on the images. Ever since its finish in summer 2008 it has been a bigger hit than imaginable.

News had been a little slow, but when Daniel started his run of Equus on broadway it picked up. The site has made many exclusive, including over 200 pictures or rare photoshoots. In the future there will be more exclusives and more updates to come. Coming in July 2009 is the Harry Potter & the Half Blood Prince Promotional Tour and Daniel Radcliffe Network will be there for all the new pictures & videos to come.

It is my pleasure that I add to what Juliet has stated above. I, Jill, became webmistress of this site, with its co-webmistress Marcie and its graphic designer Adair, in 2009. We will continue to keep this site as it was ment to be and we know you will continue to love it. It has been here for all of the Dan news and will continue to be as long as you all keep cherishing it.
