Entertainer of the Year – Dan!
Having conquered Broadway musicals and starred in the year’s top-grossing movie, Daniel Radcliffe now has a new title: Entertainment Weekly’s Entertainer of the Year for 2011. The announcement was made on the December 7 edition of Good Morning America by EW managing editor Jess Cagle.
“Ultimately there was one person who made the most sense,” Cagle said of the 22-year-old triple threat. “There’s nothing he can’t do. He’s really interested in doing the work. Despite all his wealth and fame as a teenager, he never derailed.”
Radcliffe spent most of 2011 starring as J. Pierrepont Finch in the hit revival of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. His final Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2, grossed more than $380 million after opening this summer. Radcliffe is set to depart Broadway on January 1, just before the film thrillerThe Woman in Black opens.
He will be featured on Entertainment Weekly’s cover this Friday! December 9th.
