In February of 2006, production on Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix began. The fans were much anticipating the onscreen kiss between Cho and Harry. The film proved that darker and scarier didn’t cut it and the rage and anger for some characters would prove to the fans it was more then just another HP Flick. From emotional mood swings to friendship, the potter crew were sure to impress at the box office.

With the the shock and surprise of Equus, and The fifth installments release not far behind, Fans were beginning to see Dan as an original actor. The year 2007 was certainly going to be one of his busiest. With a Harry Potter release, December Boys, Equus, and a whole other role, he was proving that he was serious about acting and more than just Harry Potter.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix was released on July 11, 2007, grossing $290,598,256 it did not prove to be the most successful, however the films raved reviews won the onscreen kiss a nomination at the 2008 MTV Movie Awards. They did not win, but it still shows that it was good. In 2007 Dan took a little time off and played around. When starting the promotional tour for Harry Potter 5 he began in Japan. It was his second time visiting the country, and was surprised that there were more that 3,000 people waiting for him at the airport.
